Professional Installer / Distributor Technician

Submit your signup information and begin training immediately. Complete Common Core, then each system’s required lessons, tests and videos. CTSX / CTX-S1 also require the eight online qualification checks. Available certificates are issued automatically when all requirements are complete; signup alone does not authorize installation.

Step 1 · Shared foundation

Common Core

General fundamentals, components, hazard assessment, installation responsibilities, inspection and records. Five study lessons and a separate 25-question test.

A recorded Common Core pass is retained when you add systems. A passing Common Core section from the earlier combined course also carries forward.

Step 2 · Add systems

CTX

Seven lessons, the required piston-reset video and a separate 25-question CTX test. Retakes draw from an expanded question bank, with three attempts per day. Common Core must be passed first.

Open CTX add-on

CTXM · Optional kit for CTX

This optional kit can be added to CTX systems and has its own drawing. Kit-specific installation training belongs within CTX.

Open CTXM · Five lessons and a 10-question test

Pass CTX first. Option completion is saved separately within CTX.

CTSX / CTX-S1

Seven lessons, three separate 20-question tests, eight online qualification reviews and required video acknowledgments. CTXB assembly instruction and testing are included within CTSX and CTX-S1; CTXB is not a separate system course.

RV · Horizontal and vertical systems

Six lessons with installation photos, demonstration references, kitchen and bedroom handheld guidance, and a 25-question knowledge test with alternate retake wording. Three attempts per day.

Complete professional Common Core and all six RV lessons, then pass the RV test. RV certification follows automatically after eligible signup and required learning.

CT · Direct Detection-tube discharge

Seven lessons covering CT operation, mounting, Detection tubing, fittings, charging, leak checks and completion. A 25-question test draws from a 44-question bank, with three attempts per day.

Complete professional Common Core first. CT is a separate system qualification; certification follows automatically after eligible signup and the required learning.

Professional repair training

Detection Tube Repair — Ferrules and Fittings

Review the back ferrule, front ferrule and tube insert, their repair sequence, seating and fitting reassembly.

Detection-tube fitting repair: component order

For the repair sequence, start at the nut: nut → back ferrule → front ferrule → tube insert. Do not put the tube insert first. Complete assembly and repair must be identified separately. These component-order notes do not replace the applicable tightening, inspection, or leak-check instructions.

Seating before tightening

After installing the components in the applicable sequence, seat the tube firmly against the fitting-body shoulder and make the nut finger-tight before following the specified tightening procedure.

Initial fitting tightening

For initial assembly, mark the nut at six o’clock. Hold the fitting body steady with a back-up wrench. Tighten the nut one and one-half turns, ending with the mark at twelve o’clock. Reaching twelve after only a half turn is insufficient. The training documentation specifies the turn-of-nut method, not a torque specification. Cold Fire Super Systems does not use a gap inspection gauge. Complete the applicable leak check.

Fitting reassembly

Reassembly differs from first assembly. Seat the tube with its pre-swaged ferrules. Return the nut to the previously pulled-up position, where resistance increases significantly. Then tighten slightly further, approximately one quarter turn. Do not repeat the initial one and one-half turns. Use the applicable inspection and rejection instructions; the supplied sheet does not establish a numerical reuse limit.

Use drawing 845-DT-001, Revision 01, with the applicable repair, inspection and leak-check instructions.

The complete lesson includes tube operation, spring protection, battery-terminal hazards, repair photos and the assembly drawing. Pass its completion question to unlock the separate 15-question test.
